Current tensions in Israel with the haredi and women

There was an interesting article in yesterday's NY Times about a current flare up related to the ability of women to participate in events hosted by haredi (or ultra-Orthodox Jews). Beyond providing an account of current affairs, the article provides some good context for the shifting place of haredi in Israeli society, and why it has become a long-standing source of tension.
